GONE Fishing Update Log — Patch Notes & 1.0
Every GONE Fishing patch that changes how you fish, from Early Access to the 1.0 release and hotfix: trinkets, MOBY, Rhizodus and rebalanced totems.
What changed in the latest GONE Fishing update?
The 1.0 release on October 20, 2026 is the update that matters: it added a proper ending, replaced the line/rod/sinker progression with eight upgradeable trinkets, and added a new Mythic fish, the Rhizodus, in the Lake’s deep water. A same-day hotfix followed to fix achievement unlocks for legendary and mythical catches.
Everything below is the patch history that actually changes how you fish, newest first. Cosmetic and localization patches are summarised rather than quoted.

The 1.0 update
Three things were named as priorities for 1.0: a proper ending, a new fishing progression system, and stability.
The ending is real — defeat the boss and you unlock the MOBY rod, which the developers describe as the endgame rod. The progression rework replaced upgrades you buy once and never touch with eight trinkets you choose and level, where activating them grants large temporary buffs. The developers describe trinkets as “a form of gambling”, which tells you what to expect from the tuning.
Stability was the third priority, and the patch notes are candid about the Early Access history of bugs. Networking, replication and crash fixes were bundled into the same release.
The new Mythic is the Rhizodus, found in deep water on the Lake. It is explicitly gated: you need to have beaten the boss and hold the MOBY rod before it is catchable.
Balance changes worth knowing
- Legendary bait floor: 200 → 175. If you gave up on a Legendary build because you could not reach 200, this patch is for you.
- Fish Frenzy at max level: 90% → 75% faster bites, and 200 → 250 gold. Still the best quality-of-life totem, just no longer free.
- Slowing Metabolism now reduces quota continuously rather than once on purchase, which changes the timing of when you buy it.
- Stalker is significantly slowed near a placed torch — torches became a real defensive item.
- Smoker 50 → 25 gold, fishing rod 15 → 5 gold. Early-game economy got cheaper.
- Gambling odds were adjusted multiple times, most recently upward, with a documented 65% loss / 35% win split at one point.
What the update log does not tell you
Patch notes describe intent, not outcomes. Two examples: the 1.0 notes claim stability work, and there were still hotfixes the same day; the notes describe trinkets as a progression system, but the practical effect is more randomness in a run. Treat the log as a change list and the beginner guide as the “what this means for you” layer.
How this page is maintained
This page is rebuilt from the official Steam announcement feed whenever a patch lands. Dates are the Steam publication date, not the in-client rollout date, and patch titles are kept verbatim — including typos — so you can search for them.
